With a focus on fresh, local products, Pizza X has been delivering pizza.love.happiness to Bloomington since 1982. Because Pizza X is a locally-owned, independent restaurant, it has the unique ability to connect directly with the customer. The company focuses heavily on this opportunity when developing marketing strategy. One of the most important examples of such marketing strategies is the Pizza X Xtern Program. The goal of the Xtern team is to create brand awareness and build positive customer relationships through grassroots marketing strategies, including attending campus and community events.
The Pizza X Xternship will give students the unique opportunity to represent a strong Bloomington brand and to participate in non-traditional, grassroots marketing tactics. Each Xtern will be exposed to all Pizza X marketing functions, including strategy and target marketing, and will gain practical, in-depth experience in the fields of marketing and branding. Xterns will have a chance to work alongside the leaders of the marketing team in event management, assisting in creating promotions, developing social media posts, and designing consumer materials. The Pizza X Xternship will also provide participants the opportunity to use relevant classroom experience to real-life application.
