Xtend-a-Hand

Pizza X has been committed to supporting our local community since 1982 and, as an extension of this effort, we have adopted a simple dine and donate program, called Xtend-a-Hand, to give local non-profit organizations a chance to raise much-needed funds.

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. If your non-profit organization is interested in participating, please complete the form at the bottom of the page at least 2 months prior to the month being requested. The more notice given, the more likely you’ll get the month you prefer.

  2. Once the dates have been confirmed internally, the organization must provide a logo. Pizza X will then provide a flyer template for the organization to distribute to their family, friends, and followers.

  3. The key to making this fundraising effort successful is a massive advertising effort by the participating organization. Therefore, it’s recommended to distribute promotional materials to everyone, and often!

  4. Order and enjoy Pizza X during the month of your event! Xtend-a-Hand events will take place on Mondays. Make sure to use the code word if ordering by phone or click the “Xtend-a-Hand” tab if ordering online.

Setting Yourself Up for Success

  1. Schedule as early as possible to give your organization ample time to promote.

  2. Promote using many different channels including word-of-mouth, social media, and e-mail blasts.

  3. Set up event reminders through e-mail and social media at least 48 hours before each Monday event.

  4. Feel free to tag Pizza X on your Xtend-a-Hand promotional posts to help reach more people.

  5. Reach out to your organization’s friends/partners to help spread the word!

  6. Encourage staff and volunteers to share social media posts and other promotional materials with their family and friends.

  7. Make sure to promote the event often — we suggest at least weekly reminders — throughout the month. Only posting once about the event at the start of the month has proven inadequate for a successful event, so try to remind your audience often!

  8. Here are some specific tips we received from an organization who was very successful:

    • Create a dine and donate event on your Facebook page for every Monday of your Xtend-a-Hand month

    • Host an in-person event (related or not) that includes information about Xtend-a-Hand

    • Distribute a biweekly newsletter that includes your promotional graphic

    • Send reminder emails each Monday morning that include updates about how the Xtend-a-Hand is going so far — people like a challenge!

The “Fine Print”

  1. Each non-profit organization may schedule 1 event during a calendar year.

  2. Pizza X will only host Xtend-a-Hand events every Monday of a calendar month.

  3. Pizza X will donate 20% of purchases (excluding tax, delivery fee, and tip) when the organization is identified during a phone order or the organization is chosen under the “Xtend-a-Hand” tab when placing an order online during the event.

  4. Xtend-a-Hand donations are good for both pick-up and delivery orders. The organization may spread the word by any means necessary, but may not stand outside of any Pizza X location to target incoming customers.

  5. Xtend-a-Hand events are valid at all 7 Pizza X locations.

  6. Pizza X reserves the right to decline an Xtend-a-Hand request.

    • We will try to get your check out ASAP, but be sure to expect it within 2-3 weeks.
